Drawn line, placed one-quarter to one-third way up hoof, serves as guide for nail exit.
 
With nail bevel facing frog, begin hammering. Hold shoe securely; aim for guideline.
     
 

Alternate nail placement from side to side.
 
Use edge of pulloffs to tighten nails.
